Company History

Moore Financial Services is the culmination of years of education and experience helping clients pursue their financial goals.  Company Founder Raymond E. Moore entered the financial services industry in 1971 in Norfolk Virginia. Since that time Ray has been a registered representative and registered principal as well as a licensed life and health insurance agent. In 1976 Ray accepted a management position with Pilot Life Insurance Company and proceeded to relocate to Richmond, Virginia in 1978 where he stayed to raise his family and grow his business.

In 1982 Ray realized his true passion was working side by side with his clients to help them pursue their financial goals. Therefore, Ray left the management side of the insurance business and formed Creative Insurance Concepts, to specialize in retirement and estate planning for a growing client base. In the same year Ray became a Branch Manager and Registered Principal with Chubb Securities Corporation and a General Agent representing numerous insurance companies, including Chubb Life. After several mergers and acquisitions, Chubb Securities and Chubb Life became known as Lincoln Financial Securities and Lincoln National Corporation.

Throughout the decade of the eighties Creative Insurance Concepts evolved and in 1990 was changed to Raymond E. Moore, CLU, ChFC & Associates. To reflect the true nature of the growing practice more accurately it was renamed Moore Financial Services in 1999. In that same year Ray’s son, Christopher Moore, came to work with Ray as a life and health insurance agent. Then in 2000 Christopher Moore became an LPL Registered Representative and later an LPL Registered Principal.

With Ray at the helm, Moore Financial Services has always operated under the belief that knowledge is the foundation for providing superior service to our clients. Evidence of this is seen in Ray’s educational experience and the dedication each team member has towards continuing education. Ray completed the requirements for the professional designation CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) from The American College in 1981, and in 1985 earned the professional designation of ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant). Then in July of 2000 he earned the degree of MSFS (Master of Science in Financial Services) from the American College Graduate School of Financial Sciences in Bryn Mawr, PA. In 2004 during Ray’s pursuit to further his knowledge and passion for philanthropy he was a member of the first graduating class at the American College for the CAP designation (Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy).

Donna Blish joined our team in 2005 as our Client Service Manager.  Donna is now a Registered Sales Assistant with LPL Financial.

Joe Tuck joined us from Wells Fargo in 2013 and brought a great deal of wisdom and experience, that he shares with all of us, especially in individual stock selection and options trading.

As our client base and assets under management grew, it became clear we needed to find additional advisors who shared the firm’s commitment of always striving to provide our clients with the best financial advice possible while always putting our clients’ best interests first.

We brought Ashwin Sharma on board as a Wealth Advisor in 2017, who promptly became an integral part of the team, especially assisting with creating financial plans for our clients.

In 2018 it became clear that to continue to provide quality service and offer exceptional investment opportunities, we would need to change Broker Dealers.  A very difficult decision after working with the same home office people for over 35 years.  In August of that year we moved to LPL as our Broker Dealer while retaining the General Agent relationship with Lincoln National Life Insurance Co.

In 2019 we added two additional Wealth Advisors: Charlie Allen and Patrick Coor, who are a great team providing financial planning as well as wealth management services for their clients.  Additionally in 2021 we hired Amanda Wassem as a Client Relationship Manager to help meet our growing demand.

In 2022 Jacqueline Taylor joined the firm as a Wealth Advisor, after leaving Wells Fargo. Jackie lives in Saluda and serves many clients in the Northern Neck & Middle Peninsula of Virginia.  We later had another long time LPL advisor David Dye join us, who is working closely with Charlie and Pat as co-advisors with his clients.

In 2023 we welcomed the father daughter team of Richard Adams and Rebecca Hollis to the Moore Financial Services team.  Richard has been a financial advisor for over 40 years. They too left another LPL office to join our firm seeking a practice that more closely reflected their values.

The advisors of Moore Financial Services work collectively to serve our growing client base, and always put the best interests of our clients first.
